About Me

We've been friends since college, which means we've been talking each other's ears off since... well, since some time in the previous century (hint: leg warmers were in... for the first time.) We were big/little sisters in the same sorority-- Pi Beta Phi-- and we took advantage of everything college life had to offer.

After graduation, we threw ourselves into our careers in the most exciting city in the world-- New York. Eileen paved a career for herself in advertising and marketing, while Elise made her mark in television news. Successful and single-- it was great. (It was a lot like "Sex and the City," only with less sex and cheaper shoes.)

But, motherhood was calling to us, and after we married, we were both blessed with children --five between the two of us. We put our careers on hold to stay home with our kids, and all was (relatively) quiet, until we came up with an idea. We wanted to start our own business, and we wanted it to revolve around what we had found ourselves immersed in: motherhood.

Thus, Planet Mom was born. We decided to produce and sell cotton apparel that would be embroidered with irreverent sayings about motherhood. Lines that all moms could relate to. Tees, hats and shirts that would make people laugh and would start a conversation, even between strangers.

That was three years ago. We've watched our business, www.PlanetMomTShirts.com, grow and prosper during that time. We've seen our apparel featured on "The View", "Today", PerezHilton.com, and we've had our 15 minutes when we were interviewed on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends." We've heard from celebrities who say they adore our tees, and we've watched our favorite comedienne, Kathy Griffin, wearing our shirts on her reality show, "My Life on the D List."

It has been a thrilling adventure to start a business together, and one of the best parts is getting feedback from our customers. With that in mind, we've started this blog, so that we can hear from, and talk to, moms from around the country. We like to say that motherhood, like our apparel, is full of inside jokes...and you're in on it.
